Antistrip Metering System
Maxam uses a special high viscosity, positive displacement antistrip pump mounted near the tank outlet. This design allows for pumping difficult, highly viscous compounds at normal ambient temperature conditions without adding heat. This also extends the life expectancy of the pump unit. Others use inferior pumps designed to move light oils wasting electrical or thermal oil heat just to get the antistrip compound to the correct temperatures. Our standard system includes a suction heater for use only when viscosity is about 50,000 centistockes, usually occurring only at temperatures well below 70 degrees F. If the suction heater is ever required, it heats only the compound as it is being pumped — usually at a rate around one gallon per minute — using very little electrical energy. This is similar to inline heating of heavy fuels — no one would ever consider heating an entire fuel tank! Why do it with antistrip and take a chance on choking or product breakdown?
The Maxam Antistrip Pump/Meter unit is self contained in a steel enclosure, protecting all components from weather and damage. The low cost, non-insulated storage tank is available with an optional built-in containment eliminating the need for costly site-built containment.
System options include the California version which utilizes MircroMotion's Elite Series Coriolis Meter. It is state approved for both continuous mix and batch plant operations.
Maxam's additive system is the result of years of experience in pumping and metering many different and difficult products. We employ only state-of-the-art components and design concepts, resulting in lower initial cost and years of trouble free service — don't settle for less.
